Who we are

Winemaking has always been a passion of our family…

Our story

It all began with Grandfather Luigi, who  had been involved in the harvests since he was a child and loved following each step that transformed grapes into wine.
In 1975, he planted the first vines of our estate just below the hills of Lucca, in a rural area where he worked as a general practitioner and pursued his passion for winemaking in his free time.

The result was a simple wine, intended for family use, just as was customary in these lands.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Girolamo inherited the same passions. He renovated the winery and ran the farm for over ten years. By relying on the guidance of a trusted winemaker, the wines produced were always appreciated by those who tasted them.

After the business was suspended for a few years, the next generation stepped in Clotilde, Girolamo’s daughter, returned to the family vineyards with a clear vision: to produce natural wines. To this end, the vines are treated without the use of chemicals, and the winemaking process is carried out through spontaneous fermentation, without fining or filtration, resulting in an artisanal product. Clotilde is deeply committed to both the quality of wine and the sustainability of the environment. With her, we are the third generation of winemakers in the Morelli family: her dedication adds a touch of femininity to the vineyard, enriching it with color, both in the cellar and in the adjacent agriturismo.

Clotilde Morelli

Owner and sommelier of La Mimosa

Clotilde and her passion for nature: from a young age, she was deeply curious about everything around her. At the age of eight, she joined a scout group, which helped her grow in love and respect for nature.

She has always loved traveling and discovering local foods and wines wherever she went. This curiosity eventually led her to the world of wine. What began as a simple interest, through a sommelier course taken to better understand its many nuances, soon grew into a true passion — one that inspired her to build a career in winemaking.

To deepen her knowledge, she completed a master degree in International Wine Marketing. Today, she runs this young winery with great dedication, following the natural rhythm of the land and creating artisanal products that evoke the traditions of the past. The winery continues to grow and is now planning to expand with the planting of a new vineyard.

From Lazio to Tuscany, the story of Manuel and his natural wine begins in a small farm, where biodynamics and spontaneous fermentations set the stage.

From there, it was a short step to the recovery of abandoned vineyards in the hills of Lucca. Today, Manuel runs a vibrant, young, and strong winery — just like his wine.

He describes his product as a bridge between modern technologies and natural winemaking. University taught him the chemistry and biochemistry involved in wine production, while hands-on experience taught him not to overuse it.

His wines aim to be healthy yet modern in style: clean and approachable, without heavy-handed technological interventions.
