What does Tredici Lune (Thirteen Moons) mean? Occasionally, a year may feature thirteen full moons, and the “extra” one in 2023 occurred on August 31, coinciding with the harvest period. That full moon was also the largest of the year. This wine is produced from Sangiovese grapes and other red grape varieties, all harvested by hand. The grape clusters are placed in small vats for a brief maceration. This is followed by pressing, after which the must rests for several months, first in stainless steel tanks and then in concrete.
